Game crashed on full screen

Postby alphanimal » Sun Feb 05, 2017 6:46 am

Hello!

When launching the game in full screen mode it shortly after closes again without any error message. It launches in windowed mode but crashed the same way when I switch to full screen in options.

This has been happening for a long time now. Throughout multiple versions of the game and my graphics card drivers (AMD)
I also tried uninstalling the game through Windows, manually deleting game files like stated in the FAQ and other forum posts.

This is the contents of the log file:

Code: Select all
DirectX: Creating window, w=1936, h=1119
DirectX: Initializing
DirectX: Initialized
DirectX: Creating device
DirectX: Created device
DirectX: Setting viewport
WINDOW SUCCESSFULLY INITIALIZED
DirectX: Initializing pipeline
DirectX: Done initializing pipeline
NecroDancer version v1.27 loading...
OnCreate: Initializing Steam
OnCreate: Updating screen size
Updating screen size: 1920x1080
OnCreate: Starting FMOD
Initializing FMOD values
1024
2
0
0
OnCreate: Setting update rate
GLOBAL_SCALE_FACTOR: 4.0
Loading ControllerMainMenu...
LoadPlayerDataXML(), cloudTimestamp=1486304825

What else could I try?

Thanks!

Hi! Sorry to hear your game is crashing. Are you running any antivirus programs that could be interfering with the game? If you are, are you able to disable those programs and try running the game?

I only have Windows Defender running. Disabling that doesn't fix the problem

I see from the crash log that you're running v2.40. If you're running Amplified can you check in your game folders to see if you have mdmp files? The file will actually have a name like "necrodancer_2023_crash_2016_12_5T21_46_23C0.mdmp."

If you do have any mdmp files, can you attach them to an email and send them to: help (at) braceyourselfgames (dot) com? I can have our programmers look at the files to try to see why it's crashing and hopefully be able to fix it.

If you also have a copy of your save data, can you attach that to the same email as well? We may be able to reproduce the issue easier and be able to fix the issue easier if we have that. Thank you!
