Music games

Postby Shinji16 » Thu Jun 20, 2013 11:29 am

Given half of what makes up Necrodancer is the music game subgenre, I'm curious...

What music games has everyone here played or is currently playing?

IIDX is my mainstay, but it's easier to list music games I haven't played. Which, erm... can't think of any.

So, what about everyone else?

Rhythm Heaven Fever is my current fave :) (I'm sure you've played it!)

I've been a fan of osu! for a while now. A couple users here play too (Nathaniel and default0).

I'm so glad the latest Rhythm Heaven got ported; it's so delightful!

Also, I've seen some absolutely insane Osu! stuff, especially when people use a tablet and mouse combo to play. I'm also glad the iOS port got as much support as it did. Any of you Osu! players play the original Ouendan or EBA on DS?

I haven't. I was only introduced to it about a year ago (by Nathaniel actually), and those were 2005-07.

Stepmania, DDR and Reflec Beat PLUS (the iPad port - my favourite charts in it are L'erisia Primary Logic hard and Bad Maniacs hard, coincidentally also my hardest charts I have so far LOL).

Ah, Bad Maniacs. "You are... playing to die." BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM "You're... so dead..."

I miss Teranoid. Granted, I'm glad Kors K is more at peace with being open in different music styles, but Teranoid has such a distinct flavor to it.

I have! I played Ouendan on an emulator (why are so many of my favorite games not released to North America? *cough* Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney) and I have Elite Beat Agents for my DS. My god, those games were refreshing! I do have to say though, osu! has an almost infinite replay value because of all of the user-made maps, but I do love the handhelds.

I played Flash Flash Revolution for a long time. My brother holds some records there.

Who's your brother? Also, I hear FFR has been updating a lot lately or is about to roll out something new.
