Other roguelikes you've played?

Discuss anything you like, as long as it's NOT related to Brace Yourself Games!

Well, instead of separating them into roguelikes, rogue-like-likes, etc., I'm just gonna list all the Procedural Death Labyrinths I've played that I can remember.

Claustrophobia: The Downward Struggle (Pre-remake alpha)
Dungeons of Dredmor (100+hrs on Steam - yay)
The Binding of Isaac w/ Wrath of the Lamb
Desktop Dungeons ('alpha' & full release)
Don't Starve
Coin Crypt (been playing since pre-Early Access)
Sword of the Stars: The Pit
Eldritch (the only one I've EVER finished)
Tales of Maj'Eyal 4 (I think it's a PDL)

There's others, of course, but they're the ones I can remember.

It's my favourite genre. Can't beat the replayability. Hence why my steam hours are so high.

The Binding of Isaac: 476 hours
Spelunky: 126 hrs
FTL: 84 hrs
Risk of Rain: 47 hrs
and of course, so far Crypt of the Necrodancer: 57 hrs

In the past I've played far more Dwarf Fortress then I care to think about. I've considered going down that road again, but I worry I won't come back :headspin

I've only played Binding of Isaac and Spelunky, myself. I was terrible at both. Binding of Isaac I played for about 60 hours, before deciding that I had hit a wall in my skill level, and simply couldn't get any farther. Spelunky I played for about an hour before deciding I just didn't like it.
"Quick restart" is the most powerful spell.

This is the first game of this genre I've ever played.

To say I was unprepared for the level of difficulty would be an understatement of the highest order.

  • Binding of Isaac - 31 h
  • Dungeons of Dredmor - 31 h
NecroDancer clocks in at 26 h right now. Let's see if my (apparent) roguelike rule of 31 h will apply. :ego

  • Dwarf Fortress - No idea, potentially 31 h
  • FTL - 2.4 h
  • Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup - like 20 minutes?
  • IVAN - like 20 minutes? Only picked it up because my name's on it. It seemed pretty good, though, any comments?
  • Desktop Dungeons alpha

I have a bunch of ones I'm interested in (Invisible inc, Rogue Legacy, Spelunky) but the only ones I've ever played is Don't Starve and Pixel Dungeon, the latter of which I don't play anymore because of a policy I have.

I've dabbled in Nethack but don't have the aptitude for it.

I also play faster than light sometimes, and Delver which is a 3D ('Minecraft-esque) rouge like. whenever people see me playing it, they ask what Minecraft mod it is.

The Binding of Isaac, Nuclear Throne, Spelunky, and Rogue Legacy.

Huh. I have Pixel Dungeon on my phone, I think. Don't play it much cause I think it's unbalanced fairly.
The following statement is true, the previous statement is false.
